Certified to Seismic Zone 4 for mission-critical Data Centers

Belden’s seismic enclosures have a robust steel frame design for hosting server, switch and network components in a Data Center located in an earthquake zone.

Certified to Seismic Zone 4 requirements, these enclosures were subjected to vibration and shock testing as per the guidelines of "Network Equipment-Building System (NEBS) Requirements: Physical Protection", GR-063- CORE.

The seismic enclosures listed in this section have passed earthquake testing with no structural damage in a certified lab.

Product Features

The seismic enclosures have the following features and benefits to meet Data Center application needs:

  • A welded steel frame construction reinforced with a heavy gauge steel sub-frame to provide extra rigidity for seismic enclosures
  • Highly perforated doors with stiffener channels, making the seismic enclosures sturdy while reducing the risk of equipment damage due to seismic events
  • Adjustable EIA mounting rails capable of supporting 2,000 lbs. static load during normal operating conditions
  • Feature finger-style vertical managers with brushed cable pass through, enabling front-to-rear routing while maintaining enclosure supply-return air sealing properties
  • Compatible passive and active chimney-based heat containment solutions
  • Pre-configured switch enclosures with cable management, air baffles, intake and exhaust duct (for side-to-side venting switches) and power distribution units to host CISCO Catalyst 6000 and Nexus 7000 series switches
  • Seismic enclosures are offered in standard colors of black and central office white
  • Provisioned with integral anchoring floor mount locations; Belden recommends that a qualified contractor is used in the installation of seismic enclosures as per the local, state and federal building code requirements
